Life Direction

Life direction is about making the right choices,
at the right TIME, right PLACE and for the reason of BECOMING YOU!

Each life option is always a call and a gift to live a life of faith and prayer.

Choose Life as a Sister

A Sister is a woman who lives a life of faith and prayer so as to grow in her relationship with God. She is committed to sharing in the life and mission of a religious community. She lives a vowed life: of Poverty—living simply and sharing her personal gifts , time and resources with others; of Chastity—living celibacy as an expression of her love for Jesus and all people, but not exclusive relationship; of Obedience—living attentive to God’s call through prayer and other people. She may serve as a missionary to people of other cultures. She may also serve in education, health care, parish, youth ministry, spirituality, elderly care, pastoral ministry, social work, and as a contemplative. She may be commissioned by her community to serve wherever there is a need, especially among those who are poor.

Choose LIfe in Marriage

A married person is a man or woman who lives a life of faith and prayer so as to grow in his/her relationship with God. It is a wonderful call to live a vow of faithful love to a spouse through the sacrament of marriage where each one is committed to helping husband or wife grow to human and Christian maturity. Each shares a relationship with a spouse which is self-giving, love-giving and life-giving, and seeks to form a family home. Husband or wife are the first teachers of their children in Christian faith and values. Both may also serve the parish community as lector, catechist, musician, liturgist, minister of the Eucharist, in charismatic groups and/or other church organizations. Husbands and wives may also serve the Church community in ministries such as social work, health care, education, and lay missionary work, and the wider community whenever time, personal talents, resources and family responsibilities allow.

Choose Life as a Single Person

A single person is a man or woman who lives a life of faith and prayer so as to grow in his/her relationship with God. It is a special gift given to those who have come to believe that the solitude of being single is the true and right way to faithfully live their baptismal call. One lives Christian values alone, with family or with others who are single. He or she may serve the parish community as lector, catechist, musician, liturgist, minister of the Eucharist, in care and welfare groups, and on committees. Many single people also serve the Church community in ministries such as social work, health care, education, and lay missionary work, and the wider community whenever time, personal talents, resources and family responsibilities allow. Being single allows a person more space, time and energy to the service of others, especially those most in need.
