There are always discrepancies between faith as it is taught by the Holy Scriptures of a religion and the way it is understood and interpreted by individual believers.

THREE LEVELS OF FAITH

1. The faith as it is taught in Scriptures

2. The faith as it is understood by believers

3. The faith as it is practiced in day to day life

The only way to have a dialogue which is fair, objective and fruitful, is to have it at the level of faith as it is taught and to do it in a spirit of mutual respect and wonder.
